전원책의 보수이야기 ♥제365신 지금 이명박 정부가 끝났습니다
한 시대가 지나갑니다. 그러나 '새 시대'가 열리기엔 아직 많은 시간이 필요할 것입니다.
유럽의 재정위기는 인기영합주의에 빠져 저지른 무절제한 복지 때문입니다. 그리스, 포르투칼, 이탈리아, 스페인, 프랑스까지 무분별한 국가부문 - 공공재정의 확대가 부른 위기는 복지시스템의 붕괴는 물론 세계경제를 위축시켰습니다. 여기에 비해 미국 발 금융위기는 월가의 탐욕이 가져온 '금융시장의 붕괴'입니다. 후자는 국가가 개입해 도덕성을 회복하고 시스템을 복원하면 되겠지요. 그러나 유럽 재정위기는 1960년대에 시작한 좌파 정부들의 '보편적 복지'가 부른 '고질병'입니다. 그리스, 스페인에서 보듯 한번 시행한 복지는 되돌리기가 정말 어렵습니다.
MB정부는 금융위기 재정위기를 이겨냈습니다. 그러나 그 과정에서 중산층은 아주 어려워졌지요. 그래서 박근혜 새 정부에 복지수요가 느는 건 필연적입니다. 모쪼록 대중인기보다 국가의 미래를 내다보고 절제하는 지도력을 기대합니다.
