전원책의 보수이야기 ♥제358신 우리 사회가 언제부터 급진좌파적 성향을 가지게 된 것일까요
예컨대 급식, 보육 두 가지는 세계에서 '거의 유일한' 보편적 복지 체제입니다. 0세부터 2세까지 빈부, 맞벌이와 상관없이 보육원 지원을 하는 나라는 우리밖에 없습니다. 우리가 언제부터 '사회주의 국가'가 되었습니까? 게다가 대학진학률 80%에 등록금 절반을 국가가 부담하는 나랍니다. 본래 시장자유를 주창한 자유주의를 비판하면서 빈부격차 해소와 노동자의 열악한 처우 개선에 정부의 개입이 필요하다고 나선 것은 '전통적 보수주의'였습니다. 불공정하고 무절제한 시장을 정부가 규제할 것을 주장한 것도 전통적 보수주의입니다. 오늘날 현대 자유주의는 당연히 정부의 개입을 주장합니다만 현대 보수주의도 전통적 보수주의처럼 정부의 역할을 인정하는 추세입니다. 그러나 현대 자유주의든 현대 보수주의든 범자유주의 진영에서 최소한 이런 무차별적인 복지와 정부의 확대를 주장하는 사람은 없습니다. 최근 이 나라 급진좌파 세력들(과거 민주노동당과 일부 민주당)이 박근혜 정부의 복지정책에 찬사를 보내는 걸 보면서, 그리고 민통당이 '공약을 빨리 시행하자'고 나서는 걸 보면서 나는 분노가 치미는 걸 참을 수 없습니다.
