 김문수 경선은 자기성찰 기회…부족함 느꼈다

 【수원=뉴시스】유명식 기자 = 새누리당 대선후보 경선에 나서 박근혜 후보에게 밀린 김문수 경기도지사는 31일 "저 자신이 많이 부족하고 (제 생각과)국민의 생각과는 많은 차이가 있다는 점을 느꼈다"고 말했다.

김 지사는 이날 오전 수원시 이의동 경기중소기업종합지원센터에서 열린 기우회에 참석, 인사말을 통해 "경선은 스스로를 되돌아보는 기회였다"며 이같이 밝혔다.

그는 "대한민국의 시대적 과제를 푸는데 일조할 수 있겠다는 생각으로 나름대로 열심히 뛰었지만 그것은 제 생각이었다"며 "자신을 성찰하는 계기가 됐다"고 했다.

"도를 비롯한 수도권과 지방의 인식 차이가 굉장히 크다는 것도 알았다"며 "지방의 어려운 점이 수도권 때문이 아니라고 설명을 해도 납득하지 못하는 사람이 많아 아주 큰 벽이 있음을 실감했다"고도 했다.

도정 공백을 우려한 목소리에 대해서는 "더 분발하겠다"며 고개를 숙였다.

김 지사는 삼성과 엘지의 평택 투자를 거론하며 "대기업이 국내에서도 젊은이들을 많이 채용하고 (제품을)생산하는 대한민국이 될 수 있도록 경기도가 앞장설 것"이라고 당분간 도정에 전념할 뜻을 밝혔다.
