 꿈을 이룬 세대dream come true generation

 일본에 올 때마다 1975년 4월 처음으로 이 나라를 찾았을 때 생각이 난다. 30세의 기자가 처음 외국여행을 한 것이다. 도쿄 메구로의 한 호텔에 체크 인 한 다음 내가 맨 먼저 한 일은 식료품 상점에 가서 바나나를 두 덩어리 사 가지고 호텔 방으로 돌아와 배터지게 먹는 것이었다. 다음 날 아침도 바나나로 때웠다. 당시 한국에서 바나나는 수입 규제품이었다. 이 귀한 과일을 먹는 것은 일종의 사치였다. 
 
 제주도에서 감귤이 생산되기 전 오렌지도 '귀한 과일'이었다. 오렌지 하나를 구하면 온 가족이 둘러 앉아 한 조각씩 나눠 먹었다. 
 
 그러던 우리 한국이 5년 뒤엔 1인당 국민소득(구매력 기준) 부문에서 일본을 追越(추월)한다. 한국은 정말 많이도 컸다. 1920~40년대생은 꿈을 이룬 세대이다. 이들의 奮鬪(분투) 덕분에 어릴 때 꿈으로 생각하였던 것들이 當代에 거의 다 이뤄졌다. 
 
 이들 개발 세대야말로 '가장 위대한 세대'이고 '가장 생산성이 높았던 세대'이고 가장 많은 피와 눈물과 땀을 흘린 세대이자 '꿈을 만든 세대'(dream maker)이고 '꿈을 이룬 세대'이다. 
 
 '꿈을 이루다'를 영어로는 'dream come true'라고 한다. 개발세대는 'dream come true generation'인 셈이다. 우리가 꿈을 이루는 데 줄곧 훼방만 해온 자들이 종북세력이다. 이들이 양심, 민주, 개혁, 진보 세력을 자처하고, 국민세금으로 反국가활동을 한다. 이를 알고도 손을 쓰지 않는 정부와 여당이 깽판꾼들에게 자유를 파괴하는 자유를 주고 있다.
