 李 대통령 오후 3시 긴급국무회의 소집
 미국 오바마 대통령, 중국 후진타오 국가주석과 잇따라 전화통화

이명박 대통령은 19일 오후 3시 청와대에서 김정일 북한 국방위원장의 갑작스런 사망에 따른 대책을 논의하기 위해 긴급 국무회의를 열 예정이다.

 
이 대통령은 앞서 열린 긴급 국가안전보장회의(NSC)에 이어 국무위원들과 김 위원장 사망과 관련한 대응책을 마련할 수 있도록 국무회의를 소집할 것을 지시한 것으로 알려졌다.

 
이 대통령은 국무회의에서 김 위원장 사망에 따른 후속조치와 대응방안에 대해 범 정부차원에서 대응책을 마련할 것으로 전해졌다.

 
이날 오전 김 위원장의 사망 소식을 천영우 외교안보수석으로부터 보고받은 이 대통령은 곧바로 안보관계 장관들을 소집해 김정일 사후대책과 대북 대응태세 등 안보와 관련된 안건들을 논의했다.

 
앞서 이 대통령은 전공무원들에게 비상근무령을 하달했다. 전공무원들은 비상근무령이 해제될 때까지 휴가와 여행 등이 엄격히 제한되며, 비상연락망을 가동해 언제든 연락을 취할 수 있어야한다.

 
한편, 이 대통령은 긴급 국가안전보장회의가 끝나는 즉시 미국 버락 오바마 대통령과 중국 후진타오 국가주석과 잇따라 전화통화를 갖고 김 위원장의 사망에 따른 후속대책과 동북아 안정 방안에 대해 논의할 예정인 것으로 알려졌다.
