성범죄자 신상통보 첫 시행…“옆집에 성범죄자 삽니다”

성범죄자와 같은 지역에 사는 주민에게 해당 범죄자의 신상정보를 공개하는 제도가 지난 4월 16일 시행 이후 처음으로 통보 대상자가 나왔다.
법무부는 21일 성범죄자 A씨(37)가 사는 지역 이웃에 성범죄자의 신상이 담긴 ‘신상정보 고지서’를 우편으로 발송한다고 20일 밝혔다.
이번 첫 통보 대상인 A씨는 지난달 법원에서 성폭력 범죄의 처벌 등에 관한 특례법 위반(주거침입강간 등)으로 징역 2년에 집행유예 3년을 선고받았다.
이번 제도의 시행으로 A씨가 사는 읍면동 지역에서 19세 미만의 아동·청소년을 자녀로 둔 주민들은 A씨의 이름, 나이, 주소와 아파트 동·호수가 적힌 상세한 실제 거주지 등이 적힌 고지서를 받게 된다.
한편 19세 미만의 자녀가 없거나 해당 지역 주민이 아니더라도 누구든지 성년, 실명 인증을 거치면 우편으로 통보되는 성범죄자 신상정보를 ‘성범죄자 알림e’ 사이트(www.sexoffender.go.kr)를 통해 볼 수 있다.
