 보수의 법질서수호FTA비준 촉구대회
 서울시청 광장서 '촛불시위에' 맞불 긴장감1만여명 참가,촛불집회참가자와 마찰빚기도


미국산 쇠고기 수입반대 촛불집국민행동본부 뉴라이트전국연합 등 보수단체 회원 1만 여명은 10일 서울 시청 앞 광장에서 '법질서 수호 한미FTA 비준 촉구'국민대회를 개최했다. 

행사가 시작되기 전 약간의 긴장감이 감돌았다. 6·10 민주화 항쟁 21주년인 이날 시간차를 두고 시청 부근에서 미국산 쇠고기 수입을 반대하는 100만인 촛불대행진이 개최될 예정이어서 충돌이 예상됐기 때문. 

예상대로 양측 회원 일부는 몸싸움을 벌이기도 했다. 행사장 여기 저기에서 보수단체 회원과 촛불집회 참가자 등 수십명이 서로 뒤엉켜 피켓과 플래카드를 빼앗으며 언성을 높여 논쟁을 벌였던 것. 이 과정에서 물리적 충돌도 발생했다.

양측 분위기가 험악해지자 경찰은 시청광장 주변에 6개 중대 700여 명을 배치해 인간 장벽을 만들어 마찰을 차단했다.

행사가 시작되자 봉태홍 라이트코리아 대표는 "누구를 위한 촛불인가. 촛불을 꺼라"며 촛불집회 참가자들을 질타했다. 그는 "미국에는 광우병이 없다"며 "촛불집회 배후 세력이 미국산 쇠고기를 먹으면 모두 광우병 걸려 죽는다고 선전선동하고 있다"고 목소리를 높였다.

한편, 경찰은 미국산 쇠고기 수입 반대 100만 촛불집회에 인파가 몰릴 것에 대비해 전국 경찰에 갑호비상령을 발령했다. 서울광장 주변에는 전경 221개 중대 약 2만여 명을 배치했고 전국엔 71개 중대를 추가 배치했다. 회가 연일 계속되고 있는 가운데, 이를 반대하는 '맞불' 집회가 열렸다.
