 경기도 설 명절 선물 과대포장 집중 단속
 20~31일, 백화점·대형마트 등… 과태료 300만원

경기도는 오는 20일부터 31일까지 12일간 과대포장행위에 대한 집중 단속을 실시키로 했다. 그 이유는 설 명절을 맞이하여 업계의 다양한 선물세트 출시에 따른 과대포장 제품이 증가할 것으로 예상되기 때문이다.
 

단속 대상이 되는 품목은 주류·화장품류·완구류·종합제품 등 각종 선물세트며, 백화점·대형마트 등 유통업계를 중점 단속한다.
 

경기도는 “이번 단속에는 도 및 시·군, 한국환경공단이 합동으로 과대포장제품 지도·점검을 실시하여 과대포장으로 인한 자원낭비와 환경오염을 최소화할 계획이다”라고 전했다.
 

단속은 제품 포장재질, 포장방법에 관한 기준을 위반하였는지 여부를 간이측정방법에 육안으로 측정하고, 기준을 위반한 것으로 인정되는 경우 제조자, 수입업자 등 전문기관으로부터 검사를 받아 검사성적서를 제출하는 방식이다.
 

검사성적서를 제출하지 않거나 검사결과 위반한 것으로 확인된 경우 300만원의 과태료를 부과하게 된다.

 
도는 “앞으로도 실용적인 선물포장 문화를 조성하고 제조자들이 자발적으로 포장 폐기물 발생 억제가 정착되도록 지속적으로 노력할 계획이다”라는 말을 전했다.
