 문화재청 문화재보호기금 운용을

문화재의 보존 및 관리에 필요한 재원을 확보하기 위하여 문화재보호기금은 정부로부터의 출연금,정부 외의 자가 출연 또는 기부하는 현금, 물품, 그 밖의 재산,「복권 및 복권기금법」에 따른 복권기금으로부터의 전입금으로 조성하며 지정문화재 관람료를 징수하는 국가와 지방자치단체는 징수금액의 100분의 10을 기금에 납부해야 한다. 

 
문화재보호기금은 문화재청장이 관리·운용하며 문화재청장은 기금의 관리·운용에 관한 사무의 전부 또는 일부를 한국문화재보호재단이나 문화재청장이 지정하는 법인에 위탁할 수 있고 기금은 문화재 보존을 위한 예방적 관리,훼손으로 인한 문화재의 긴급 보수 또는 복원,매장문화재의 긴급 발굴,민간의 문화재 보호활동 지원에 사용한다. 

 
문화재보호기금의 관리·운용에 관한 주요 정책,기금운용계획안의 수립,기금 성과보고서 및 기금 결산보고서의 작성을 심의하기 위하여 문화재청장 소속으로 문화재보호기금심의회를 두고 위원장을 포함한 심의회 위원의 2분의 1 이상은 공무원 및 문화재보호단체의 관계자가 아닌 자로 위촉한다. 

 
문화재청장은 기금지출관에게 한국은행에 문화재보호기금의 계정을 설치하도록 하여야 하며 기금을 지원받은 자는 지원받을 때에 정하여지는 목적 외의 용도에 사용하지 못하고 지원된 기금이 목적 외의 용도에 사용된 때에는 문화재청장은 문화재보호기금 지원행위를 취소하고 환수해야 한다.
