 연료비 연동제 내년부터 에너지값 오르면 전기요금도 올린다
 농사용.교육용 차등요금제 없애고 쓰는 만큼 낸다

내년부터 국제 에너지 값이 오를 경우 국내 전기요금도 따라서 오르는 이른바 연료비 연동제가 도입된다.

지식경제부는 24일 전력산업 구조 발전방안에 대한 최종 결과를 발표하고 내년부터 전기요금 현실화를 위해 연료비 연동제를 도입한다고 밝혔다.

전력 사용이 많이 늘어나는 것은 무더위 탓도 크지만 기본적으로 가격이 너무 싸서 절약하겠다는 의식이 약하다는 게 정부의 판단인 것으로 보인다. 이달부터 이미 주택용 2%, 산업용 5.8%, 교육용 5.9%, 심야용 8.0%, 가로등용이 5.9% 등 전기요금이 일제히 인상됐지만 이것만으로는 부족하다는 것이다.

내년 7월부터 시행될 연료비 연동제는 3개월 동안 원료가격이 평균 3%가 넘게 오르거나 내릴 경우 2개월 후 전기요금에 그 변동분을 반영하는 제도다. 

또 내후년부터는 현재 용도별 차등요금제를 용도와 상관없이 쓰는 만큼 전기료를 내는 이른바 '전압별 요금제'로 바꾸기로 했다.

지경부는 "현재 전력요금이 용도별로 매겨지면서 농사용이나 교육용에는 원가를 제대로 반영하지 못했다는 지적에 따라 전압별 요금제를 도입하기로 했다"고 설명했다.
