 ‘포화속으로’ 아카데미 노미네이트
 국내 흥행 넘어 북미 14개 도시 동시개봉

1950년 8월 한국전쟁의 운명이 걸린 낙동강 지지선을 지키기 위한 처절한 전쟁의 한복판에서, 교복을 입고 포화 속으로 뛰어든 학도병 71명의 슬프고도 위대한 전투를 그린 전쟁감동실화 ‘포화속으로(감독 이재한)’가 미국 14개 도시에서 개봉 돼 순항중이다.
  
4일 미국 배급사 JS미디어에 따르면 7월30일 미주 14개 도시 20개관에서 ‘71 인 투 더 파이어(71 Into the Fire)’라는 제목으로 개봉돼 현지 최대 극장체인 AMC 비록, 뉴욕 퀸스와 뉴저지 리지필드파크, 애틀랜타 등 7개관에서 주말 관객수 1위를 기록했다. 
  
이에 앞서 지난 27일(현지시간) 뉴욕 맨하탄, 로스엔젤레스, 아틀란타 3개 도시에서 열린 특별 시사회에서도 한국전쟁 참전용사들은 물론 한·미 정치 지도자 등 다양한 인사들이 참석해 영화에 대한 뜨거운 관심과 기대를 보였다.
  
는 개봉전부터 ‘스탠포드 대학 상영회 초청’ 및 ‘하와이 국제 영화제 폐막작’ 으로 선정되는 등, 해외로부터 꾸준히 러브 콜을 받고 있어 한국 영화 최초로 아카데미 외국어 영화상 노미네이트가 기대되는 작품이다.
  
한편 지난 6월 국내 개봉 이후, 4주 연속 한국 영화 박스오피스 1위의 자리를 지키며 330만 관객을 동원한 ‘포화속으로는’ 100억이 넘는 엄청난 제작비와 화려한 출연진, 방대한 분량의 CG 작업으로 빼어난 시각효과를 자랑하며 호평을 받았다.
