 정몽준 ‘안보위협 사라지지 않고 있다’
 “6.25발발 60년의 의미와 교훈을 되새겨야 한다”

&#65279;정몽준 한나라당 대표가 “6.25발발 60년의 의미와 교훈을 되새겨야 한다”고 강조했다.

정 대표는 25일 최고위원회의에서 “최근 실시된 한 국민의식 조사에 의하면 우리나라의 10대와 20대의 60%가 6.25전쟁이 언제 일어날지 모른다는 대답을 했다고 한다”며 “아직도 전쟁의 후유증과 우리나라의 안보에 대한 현실적 위협이 사라지지 않고 있는 상황에서 우리 젊은 세대가 벌써 6.25를 잊고 있다는 점은 상당히 우려스럽다”고 밝혔다. 

  
그러면서 “6.25에 대해 우리의 젊은 세대가 잘못 알고 있거나 아예 관심이 없는 것은 우리 기성세대의 책임”이라며 “유럽의 경우에는 2차 세계대전의 아픔을 잊지 않기 위해 노르망디 상륙작전 기념일과 같은 날에는 노병과 어린이들이 함께 참여하는 기념행사 중에 젊은 세대들에게 전쟁의 교훈을 일깨우고 있다”고 말했다. 

  
한편 국가보훈처 ‘6·25전쟁60주년기념사업위원회’(이성춘 단장)가 조사한 설문에 의하면, 20대 절반가량이 ‘6·25 남침전쟁’이 언제 일어났는지를 몰랐고, 심지어 14.6%는 전쟁을 일으킨 곳이 북한이 아니라고 하거나 잘 모르겠다고 응답한 것으로 나타났다.
