美 인권 전문가들 “대북전단 금지 북한에 아부한 것…표현의 자유 재갈” 킹 前 특사“한국이 그렇게 비굴하고 아부하는 방식으로 대응해서는 북한을 효과적으로 상대할 수 없게 된다” VOA(미국의 소리) 한국 정부가 북한에 대북전단을 보낸 탈북민 단체 2곳의 법인 설립 허가를 취소한 데 대해 미국 인권 관계자들의 비난이 이어지고 있습니다. 북한의 요구에 굴복한 조치로 전 세계의 모범이 됐던 한국의 민 주주의 전통을 크게 훼손했다고 비판했습니다. 백성원 기자가 보도합니다. 미 정부에서 북한 인권 문제를 전담했던 전직 관리와 워싱턴을 중심으로 활동해온 인권 전문가들은 한국 정부의 조치가 정책 결정 시 지켜야 할 원칙과 민주주의 가치를 모두 위반했다고 지적했습니다. 로버트 킹 전 국무부 북한인권특사는 “풍선을 이용한 대북전단 살포를 금지하겠다는 한국 정부의 결정 이 김여정의 사나운 비난 뒤에 나왔다는 것이 문제”라고 밝혔습니다. [수전 숄티 북한자유연합 대표] “He is slowly eroding South Korea's liberal democracy by shutting down free speech and harassing and intimidating the North Korean defectors who are risking their lives to get information and support to their loved ones.
