 조선닷컴사설 조국 파렴치 보도했다고 언론에 보복하는 정권 법무부

법무부가 30일 내놓은 형사사건 보도 원칙 훈령에 따르면 기자들은 검찰 관계자를 개별적으로 접촉할 수 
없게 되고 '오보'를 낸 기자는 검찰 출입을 못 하게 된다. 피의자·참고인 소환, 구속, 압수 수색 등 수사 과
정 전반에 대한 촬영도 금지된다고 한다. 문재인 대통령이 지난 16일 법무부 차관을 불러 "아주 시급한 과
제"라고 지시한 데 따른 것이다. 그동안 검찰이 무죄로 추정되는 피의자를 일부러 망신 주고 압박한 경우
가 많았다. 언론도 국민 알 권리와 피의자 인권의 균형에 대해 계속 고민해야 한다.

그러나 이 훈령은 사실상 수사기관이 불러주는 대로 언론이 받아쓰라는 것이다. 무엇이 '오보'인지도 저들 
마음대로 정한다고 한다. 재판 공개는 헌법 원칙인데 기소 후에도 사건 내용을 대부분 비밀로 하고 불기소 
사건은 아예 공개하지 않는다고 한다. '밀실 수사'를 벌이고 정권 비리는 그대로 덮어버릴 수 있다는 뜻이
다. 보도 지침이 횡행하던 독재 시대에도 없던 발상이자 언론 자유와 국민 알 권리에 대한 심각한 침해다. 
자유 민주주의를 한다는 국가 중에 이런 식으로 언론을 통제하는 나라는 한국 말고는 없을 것이다.

수많은 기자가 발로 뛰어 조국 일가의 표창장 위조, 입시부정, 펀드 불법 투자, 교사 채용 뒷돈 수수 등 위
법 혐의와 파렴치 위선 행태를 고발했다. 조국씨와 법무부는 그때마다 "오보" "사실이 아니다"라고 했지만 
거의 모두 사실로 드러났다. 법무부 훈령대로라면 그 보도를 한 기자들은 검찰 취재도 못 하게 되고 출입
처에서도 쫓겨나게 된다. 인권 보호는 핑계일 뿐 조국 비리를 파헤친 언론에 대한 보복이자 비리가 드러나
는 것을 막기 위해 권력을 남용한 것이다. 이 정권은 말끝마다 '민주'를 내세우지만 그 실제 속성은 매우 
권위적이고 반민주적이다.
