UN 세계 인구 2100년에 109억명으로 정점…고령화 심화

전 세계 인구가 올해 77억명에서 2030년 85억명, 2050년 97억명을 넘어 2100년에는 109억명으로 정
점에 이를 것이라는 전망이 나왔다.
유엔 경제사회국(DESA)은 17일(현지 시각) 발간한 '2019년 세계 인구 전망' 보고서에서 이같이 예측했
다.
유엔은 보고서에서 2027년에는 인도의 인구가 중국을 따라잡을 것으로 내다봤다. 또 인도와 나이지리
아, 파키스탄, 콩고민주공화국, 에티오피아, 탄자니아, 인도네시아, 이집트, 미국 등 9개국이 2050년까
지의 인구 증가분 중 약 절반 이상을 차지할 것으로 예측했다.
유엔은 특히 65세 이상 고령층이 올해 11명 중 1명꼴인 9%에서 2050년에는 16%(6명 중 1명)로 증가
하면서 고령화가 심화할 것으로 봤다.
올해 72.6세인 기대수명도 2050년에는 77.1세로 늘어날 것으로 전망된다. 다만, 저개발국가의 현재 기
대수명은 높은 유아 및 산모 사망률과 각종 분쟁이 지속되는 상황, HIV(인간면역결핍바이러스) 여파 등
으로 국제 평균보다 7.4세가 낮은 것으로 조사됐다.
유엔은 또 글로벌 출산율은 올해 2.5명에서 2050년에는 2.2명으로 줄어들 것으로 예측했다.
