 정부 “묻지마 투기 계속되면 가상화폐 거래소 폐쇄”

브레이크뉴스 임중권 기자= 정부가 가상화폐 거래소 전면 폐쇄 검토라는 초강수를 뒀다.

홍남기 국무조정실장은 28일 정부 서울 청사에서 브리핑을 통해 “가상화폐 관련 부처 차관회의 결과, 더는 방치할 수 없다는 것이 정부 입장이다”며 “가상화폐는 큰 폭의 가격 변동과 투자 사기, 거래소 해킹 우려 등으로 수차례 경고했음에도 상당수 가상화폐 시세가 해외보다 매우 높다. 묻지마식 투기까지 있는 상황을 좌시할 수 없다”고 밝혔다.

 
이에 따라 가상화폐 시장의 투기과열 상태가 근절되지 않는다면 가상화폐 거래소 폐쇄 결정까지도 나올 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

 
한편, 정부는 내년도 주요 단속 대상에 '가상화폐 관련 범죄'도 포함시켰다. 특히 다단계 사기, 유사수신행위, 채굴 빙자 투자 사기, 환치기, 자금 세탁, 시세조종 등을 집중 감시할 계획이다.

 
아울러 검찰과 경찰도 시세조종 등 불법행위에 대한 집중 점검을 예고했다. 관련 불법행위자 적발 시에는 구속 수사를 기본 원칙으로 하며 구형 역시 가능 범위에서 최고 수준을 구형하겠다는 입장을 밝혔다.
