 화가 바뀌어 복이 된다
 우리나라의 정치판은 ‘굿판’ 비슷한 것이어서 이성과 상식을 무시한 무당놀이 같은 정치밖에 하지 못했습니다

‘전화위복’이란 묘한 말이 있습니다. ‘화’를 당할 때 “이걸 계기로 복이 온다”고 믿기는 어렵습니다. 6·25사변 같은 참사가 재발되는 것을 우리는 원치 않습니다. 그러나 많은 인명을 앗아가고 많은 집들을 모두 잿더미가 되게 한 동족상잔의 참극이 끝나고 우리는 망해버린 민족이 아니라 오히려 ‘한강변의 기적’을 일군 나라라는 사실은 의심의 여지가 없습니다.

솔직히 말하자면 우리나라의 정치판은 ‘굿판’ 비슷한 것이어서 이성과 상식을 무시한 무당놀이 같은 정치밖에 하지 못했습니다. 우리는 1948년 8월 15일 이후 방법이나 방식은 어찌되었건 선거를 통해 11인의 이름에 ‘대통령’이라는 직함을 붙여서 높이 받들었는데 내가 보기에 유자격자는 두 분 뿐이었습니다.

이승만은 확실히 건국의 아버지였고 박정희는 ‘민족중흥’의 큰 일꾼이었습니다. 내가 보기에 최악의 선택은 김영삼이었고 지금 생각하면 노태우가 무슨 짓을 해서라도 김종필을 그 자리에 앉혔으면 나라가 이 꼴이 되지는 않았을 것입니다. 김대중은 유능한 사람이었으나 욕심이 너무 많아서 김정일의 심부름밖에 못했습니다. 박근혜가 마지막 굿판을 벌인 것이라고 나는 믿습니다. 이 이상 정치가 굿으로 둔갑해선 안 됩니다. 

상식이 통하는 합리적 정치가 나타나기 위한 도약의 계기가 될 것입니다. ‘전화위복’입니다.
