식당 68 “청탁금지법 이후 매출 감소”

일식집 39% “폐업-업종전환 고려”
부정청탁금지법이 시행된 뒤 국내 식당 10곳 중 7곳의 매출이 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 비싼 메뉴를 파는 식당뿐 아니라 저렴한 식당의 매출까지 줄어 청탁금지법 시행으로 전체 외식 소비가 위축된 것으로 분석된다.
28일 한국외식산업연구원이 청탁금지법 시행 한 달을 맞아 발표한 ‘국내 외식업 매출 영향 조사’에 따르면 조사 대상 419개 외식업체 운영자의 68.5%는 청탁금지법 이후 매출이 감소했다고 답했다. 평균 매출 감소율은 36.4%였다.
식당 금액대별로는 객단가(손님 1명당 평균 지출액)가 3만∼5만 원인 식당의 86.2%가 매출이 줄었다고 답했다. 객단가 5만 원 이상 식당은 83.3%가 매출이 줄었다. 청탁금지법은 대상인 공직자 등이 받을 수 있는 식사비의 상한을 3만 원으로 정하고 있다. 또한 객단가 3만 원 미만으로 상대적으로 가격이 저렴한 식당의 65.0%도 매출이 감소했다고 답했다.
서용희 한국외식산업연구원 선임연구원은 “청탁금지법이 시행되면 손님이 늘어날 것으로 기대했던 저가 식당들도 타격을 받은 것으로 나타났다”며 “법의 적용 대상이 너무 넓다 보니 대상자가 아닌 사람들도 모임, 회식을 자제하는 분위기가 형성된 것으로 보인다”고 말했다.
청탁금지법 시행에 따른 매출 감소로 조사 대상 음식점 10곳 중 3곳(29.4%)은 휴업, 폐업 또는 업종 전환을 고려하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 일식집 중 38.9%는 휴·폐업과 업종 전환을 검토하고 있었다.
