 박 대통령 역사교육 국민 가르고 학생 나눠선 안 돼
 수석비서관회의 주재 "정치권 불필요한 논란으로 국론 분열 안돼"

박근혜 대통령은 13일 "역사교육은 정쟁이나 이념 대립에 대해서 국민들을 가르고 학생들을 나누어서는 안 된다"고 강조했다.

박 대통령은 이날 수석비서관 회의를 주재하고 "올바른 역사관을 가지고 가치관을 확립해서 나라의 미래를 열어가도록 하는 것은 자라나는 세대들에게 우리가 필연적으로 해 주어야할 사명"이라며 이같이 밝혔다.

박 대통령은 또 "올바른 역사교육을 통해서 우리 아이들이 우리 역사를 바르게 인식하고 올바른 대한민국 국민으로서 자긍심과 자부심을 갖고 자라나도록 가르치는 것은 국가와 국민의 미래를 위해서 매우 중요한 일"이라고 거듭 강조했다.

그러면서 "특히 통일에 대비하기 위해서도 우리나라에 대한 올바른 역사관은 매우 중요하다"고 밝혔다.

박 대통령은 아울러 "대한민국에 대한 확고한 역사관과 자긍심을 심어주는 노력을 우리가 하지 않으면 우리는 문화적으로도 역사적으로 다른 나라의 지배를 받을 수도 있다"고 우려했다.

박 대통령은 또 "나라와 국민을 위해 정치권이 불필요한 논란으로 국론 분열을 일으키기보다는 올바른 역사교육 정상화를 이루어서 국민통합의 계기가 될 수 있도록 함께 노력해 달라"고 당부했다.

그러면서 "앞으로 각계 의견을 잘 반영해서 올바른 역사교과서가 만들어 질 수 있도록 해 주시기를 바랍니다.[데일리안 = 최용민 기자]
