 치아 착색 주범 1위는 홍차…콜라·오렌지주스는 영향 거의 없어

 치아 착색을 유발하는 음식 1위는 홍차(black tea)인 것으로 조사됐다. 예상외로 콜라는 치아 착색을 거의 일으키지 않았다.

한국식품커뮤니케이션포럼(KOFRUM)은 경희대 대학원 치의학과 박용덕 교수팀이 20∼30대 직장인 300명을 대상으로 ‘선호 음식 중 치아 착색과 관련될 것으로 여겨지는 식품’을 설문조사한 뒤, 이 중 19종(種)의 식품을 분석한 결과 이같이 조사됐다고 12일 밝혔다.

먼저 자연 치아와 구성성분·질감·경도(硬度)가 비슷한 디스크(disc)에 19종의 치아 착색 유발 의심 식품을 각각 떨어뜨린 뒤 시간대 별로 치아(디스크)의 변색 정도를 측정했다. 이후 현재 치과에서 흔히 사용되는 치아 색깔 판정표를 이용해 치아의 변색 정도에 따라 1∼16점(점수가 클수록 변색이 심한 상태)의 점수를 매겼다.

평가 결과, 19종의 식품 중 치아 착색 점수가 가장 높은 건 홍차(12.7점)였다. 초콜릿·김치찌개·라면의 치아 착색 점수도 10점을 넘겼다. 커피의 경우 아메리카노는 8.4점, 카페라떼는 4.1점을 기록했다.

김치의 치아 착색 점수는 2점이었다. 김치와 김치찌개의 치아 착색점수(10.6점)의 차이가 큰 것은 김치찌개 조리 시 첨가되는 각종 지용성(脂溶性) 성분 때문인 것으로 연구진은 해석했다.

예상외로 콜라는 착색을 거의 일으키지 않았다. 콜라의 치아 착색 점수는 2점으로, 오렌지주스(2점)·고추장(2.3점)·커리(2.3점)·토마토소스(2.6점)·짜장(2.9점)·레드와인(3점) 등과 함께 치아에 착색을 거의 일으키지 않는 식품으로 평가됐다.
