 왜 봄을 기다렸는가
 봄이 왔으니 다들 새롭게 시작합시다.

도연명이 사계절을 두고 이렇게 읊었습니다.

 春水滿四澤(춘수만사택)
 夏雲多奇峰(하운다기봉)
 秋月揚明輝(추월양명휘)
 冬嶺秀孤松(동령수고송)

 어려서 누구나가 배우던 한시(漢詩) 중의 하나입니다. 우리말로 옮긴다면,

 봄비 내려 사방 연못 물이 가득코
 여름 구름 뭉게뭉게 기이하고나
 가을 달 높이 떠서 휘황찬란코
 겨울 등성 눈 속에 빼어난 외솔

 춘하추동을 두고 한 권의 책을 쓸 수도 있는데 천재 시인 도연명은 한자 20자로 간결하게 사계절을 요약하였습니다. 겨우내 가물었다가 봄이 되면 봄비를 기다리게 됩니다. 우리나라 기상청은 요새 비가 안 온다고 걱정이 태산 같은데, 비가 안 오면 산불도 걱정이지만 농사지을 일도 염려가 됩니다.

 개나리도 진달래도 피었습니다. 남쪽 나라에는 벚꽃이 만발하였다고 들었습니다. 이 좋은 계절에 제발 서로 싸우지 말고 서로 사랑을 힘쓰기를 바랍니다. 정치하는 사람들, 좀 웃으면서 정치하세요. 왜 그렇게 얼굴을 찡그리고 여&#8231;야가 서로 노려봅니까. 따지고 보면 서로가 원수가 아니고 동지인데, 무엇인가를 잘못 알고 있는 것 아닙니까? 나라가 망하면 여&#8231;야도 없고 정치도 자취를 감추게 됩니다.

 한 집안의 아버지, 어머니들, 좀 웃으면서 아이들을 대하세요. 오늘은 말을 잘 안 듣지만 머지않아 효자가 될 겁니다. 학교 선생님들, 그 말썽꾸러기들이 장차 뭐가 될지 모르는 것이니 사랑으로 대하세요. 직장의 상사들, 부하 직원들에게 좀 더 친절하게 하세요. 그러면 회사가 더 잘 될 겁니다.

 봄이 왔으니 다들 새롭게 시작합시다.
