이재오 “국민경선제 요구는 본선 안정감 위한 것”
“표 확장‧중간 표 포용해야”…“통합진보당, 자생력 잃어”

(뉴스톡 박장희 기자) = 이재오 새누리당 의원은 22일 대선 경선의 완전국민경선제 요구와 관련, “본선의 안정감을 가져오기 위한 것”이라고 주장했다.
이 의원은 이날 KBS라디오 ‘안녕하십니까 홍지명입니다’에 출연해 “완전국민경선제를 해 표를 더 확장하고 중간에 있는 표를 더 포용해 4ㆍ11 총선에서 나타난 것보다 더 표를 넓히지 않으면 연말 본선에 가서 불안하다”며 이같이 말했다.
그는 “(완전국민경선제가 도입되지 않으면) 중대 사태가 온다고 말한 것은 정권을 놓칠 수도 있다는 그런 이야기”라고 설명했다.
이 의원은 지난 20일 황우여 대표를 만나 완전국민경선제 도입을 논의한데 대해서는 “제가 할 수 있는 이야기는 충분히 다했다”며 “소위 당권파들이 반대할 수 있는 논리에 대해 제 설명을 충분히 했다”고 말했다.
그는 통합진보당에 대한 검찰의 압수수색과 관련, “불법은 사실이고 그 불법이 당사자들 스스로를 케어할 수 있는 자생력을 잃었다고 봐야한다”며 “시기나 방법이 어떨지 모르지만 법적 잣대를 댈 수 밖에 없지 않겠는가”라고 밝혔다.
