 유엔 “북한 곡물 생산량 증가”
 대북 식량지원 줄어들 듯

북한의 내년도 식량 상황이 호전될 것으로 예상돼 우리의 대북식량 지원규모도 줄어들것으로 전망된다. 

  
미국 자유아시아방송(RFA)는 유엔 산하 세계식량계획(WFP)식량농업기구(FAO)에서 내놓은 보고서를 토대로, 굶주릴 북한 주민이 올해 600만명에서 내년 300만명으로 절반정도 감소할 것이라고 1일 보도했다. 

  
이같은 전망은 최근 북한의 곡물생산량이 높아지고 있다는 것으로 내년에는 전년도 대비 약 8.5% 증가한 것이라고 예상한 것이다. 

  
이와관련 권태진 한국농촌경제연구원(KREI) 부원장은 “WFP는 유엔의 작황 보고서를 토대로 식량지원 규모를 결정한다”며 “내년에 북한에 대한 지원 규모는 올해보다 줄어들 것”이라고 내다봤다.

  
한편 유엔은 지난 8월경 북한의 홍수피해 등으로 식량난을 겪을 북 주민을 610만명이라고 발표한바 있다.
