 박재완 금융 불안 냉정하게 대응해야
 10일 경제정책조정회의-수출·고용 등 양호한 흐름 강조해

박재완 기획재정부장관은 10일 최근 금융시장의 변동성이 커진 것과 관련해 "막연한 불안감에 과민하게 반응하지 말고 객관적인 정보와 냉정한 자세로 대응해야 한다”고 강조했다.

박 장관은 이날 과천청사에서 열린 경제정책조정회의에서 “소규모 개방경제가 영향을 받는 것은 단기적으로 불가피하지만 최근 시장 반응은 과도한 측면이 있다”며 이같이 밝혔다.

박 장관은 “최근 금융시장 변동성 확대는 미국 정부의 부채한도 확대논란과 신용등급 하락이 직접적인 계기가 됐지만, 미국 경기둔화에 대한 우려와 유럽의 재정위기 장기화에 대한 시장의 불안이 자리 잡고 있다”고 진단했다.

이어 “2008년 금융위기를 극복하는 과정에서 우리 경제의 외환 건전성이 크게 높아졌다”며 “정부와 민간의 리스크 관리와 위기 대응 능력도 눈에 띄게 향상됐다”고 강조했다.

특히 박 장관은 “오늘 새벽 미 연방공개시장위원회(FOMC) 이후 미 증시가 급등세로 마감했고, 유럽 등 주요국도 어제 상승세 전환했다”며 “냉정한 자세로 대응해야한다”고 덧붙였다.

박 장관은 2학기 학자금 지원방안과 관련해 "과도한 학비 부담으로 학업을 포기한다면 당사자뿐 아니라 사회적으로도 미래 가능성의 손실"이라며 "공부할 수 있는 여건을 마련해야 하지만 능력을 벗어나 약속하는 것은 현재의 부담을 미래 세대에 떠넘기는 무책임한 행동"이라고 말했다.
