 총기사건 불구 7월 해병대 지원 ↑

경쟁률 2.6:1로 작년 2.4:1보다 높아

 지난 4일 발생한 해병대 2사단의 총기 난사 사건에도 불구하고 해병대 병사 지원 경쟁률이 오히려 지난해 같은 기간에 비해 높아진 것으로 나타났다.

 병무청에 따르면 오는 9월에 입영하는 해병 1149기와 1150기 948명 모집에 10일 오후 2460명이 지원, 2.6대의 1의 경쟁률을 보였다. 이는 작년 7월의 경쟁률 2.04대1에 비해 높은 수준이다. 해병 1149기 및 1150기 모집은 지난 1일 시작됐으며 11일 접수가 끝난다.

 병무청 관계자는 "해병대 지원은 병무청 인터넷 홈페이지를 통해 이뤄지며, 누계만 나타나기 때문에 지난 1일 이후 날짜별 접수현황은 확인되지 않았다"며 "보통 접수 초반엔 적고 후반에 많이 몰리기 때문에 총기 사건이 발생한 뒤에도 지원자는 꾸준히 늘어난 것으로 판단된다"고 말했다.

 해병대 연평균 경쟁률은 2008년 2.3대1에서 2009년 2.1대1로 낮아졌다가 지난해 2.4대1로 다시 높아졌다. 지난 1월엔 4.5대1로 2008년 병무청이 해병 모집 업무를 시작한 이래 최고 경쟁률을 기록했다.(konas)
