지진으로 일본열도의 좌표 24m 이동
태평양의 地殼板이 아시아 地殼板 밑으로 밀려 들어가 아시아板을 4m 정도 들어올렸다가 놓는 충격으로 일어난 것이다.

이번 일본 대지진은 태평양의 地殼板(지각판)이 아시아 地殼板 밑으로 밀려 들어가 아시아板을 4m 정도 들어올렸다가 놓는 충격으로 일어난 것이다. 아시아 지각판이 4m 떴다가 내려 앉으면서 생긴 충격과 지각판 위에 얹힌 바닷물의 움직임이 지진과 쓰나미를 만든 것이다. 이 충격으로 아시아板에 얹혀 있는 일본列島(열도)의 위치가 2.4m 이동하였다고 한다. 미국 지질 조사국의 한 연구원은 일본내의 GPS 기준 점 하나가 2.4m 달라져 조사를 해보니 일본내의 좌표들 균일하게 그 정도 움직인 것으로 나타났다고 했다. 일본열도를 들었다고 놓았는데 제대로 놓지 못했다는 이야기이다.
