 62지방선거 당선자 65명 선거사범 수사 대상
 대검찰청 “수사력 집중해 신속히 사건 종결” 방침

6·2 지방선거가 끝나면서 선거법 위반 조사가 본격 착수됐다. 

  
광역자치단체장 8명과 교육감 3명을 비롯해 당선자 65명이 수사 대상에 올라 있고, 선거사범 재판 1, 2심 모두 2개월 안에 선고한다는 방침이다.
  
3일 대검찰청 공안부(검사장 신종대)는 “당선 유·무효에 영향을 미치는 선거범죄는 수사력을 집중해 1개월 안에 신속히 사건을 종결하라”고 전국 검찰청에 지시한 것으로 알려졌다. 
  
당선자 중에 선거법 위반 혐의로 입건된 사람은 79명이며, 검찰은 이 중 9명을 기소하고 5명을 불기소 처분했다. 나머지 65명에 대해서도 계속 수사하고 있다. 
  
선거범죄로 벌금 100만원 이상 형이 확정되면 공직을 잃게 되며, 선거사무장이나 회계책임자, 배우자, 직계존비속이 선거법 위반으로 벌금 300만원 이상 형을 받아도 당선 무효가 된다.
  
이에, 검찰 관계자는 “돈선거, 거짓말선거, 공무원 선거관여는 선거를 오염하고 왜곡하는 민주주의의 적”이라며 “이 3대 범죄는 선거가 끝난 뒤에도 계좌추적을 통해 배후세력까지 추적해 엄벌하겠다”고 밝혔다.
