유승민은 한동훈을 지적할 자격이 있을까
국민의힘 텃밭에서 15년 넘게 정치를 한 인물이 할 말은 아닌 것 아닐까?

유승민 전 의원은 26일 한동훈 국민의힘 비상대책위원장의 22대 총선 불출마 선언에 대해 “이 포지션으
로 총선을 치르고 자기만 불출마한다니 굉장히 실망스럽고 생뚱맞다”고 말했다.
그런데, 정치권에서는 국민의힘의 텃밭인 대구 경북에서 4선이나 한 유 전 의원이 과연 기득권을 버린
한 위원장을 비판할 자격이 있을까 하는 지적이 나온다.
유 전 의원은 국민의힘 간판만 달면 이변이 없는 한 당선되는 곳에서 15년 가까이 국회의원을 했다.
한동훈 위원장은 총선에 출마만 하면 당선하는 건 기정사실이었다. 200개 넘는 특권이 있는 국회의원을
포기한다는 건 큰 결단이다. 현역도 아닌 당협위원장이 불출마를 선언해도 언론의 조명을 받는 게 현실
이라 더욱 그렇다.
유 전 의원의 주장처럼 험지를 출마하거나, 비례대표 후 순위를 받는 것은 소위 옛날 정치 마인드란 지
적이다.
박근혜 전 대통령은 중앙일보 프리미엄 디지털 구독서비스 ‘더중앙플러스’(The JoongAng Plus)의 ‘박
근혜 회고록’을 통해 유승민 전 의원과의 관계에 대해 “언제부턴가 나와 거리를 두기 시작했는데 아직
도 그 이유를 정확히 모른다”고 말했다.
