윤석열 대통령이 19일 권영준(53·사법연수원 25기)·서경환(57·사법연수원 21기) 대법관 후보자의 임명동
의안을 재가했다.
이도운 대통령실 대변인은 브리핑을 통해 윤 대통령이 이날 오전 두 사람의 임명을 재가했다고 전했다. 이
들은 전날 임기를 종료한 조재연·박정화 대법관 후임으로 직무를 수행하게 된다.
국회는 지난 18일 권영준·서경환 신임 대법관 임명동의안을 통과시켰다. 김명수 대법원장이 지난 6월9일
두 후보자를 임명 제청한 지 39일 만이다.
두 신임 대법관은 모두 중도 성향으로 분류되는 것으로 알려졌다. 이에 따라 김명수 대법원장을 포함해 대
법원 전원합의체 13명 중 7명이 진보 성향으로 분류됐던 대법관 구성은 보수·중도 7 대 진보 6으로 바뀌
게 됐다.
