김기현 국민의힘 대표가 6·25 전쟁 발발 73주년을 맞은 25일 "6·25 전쟁의 기원을 두고 아직도 철없게
도 북한과 소련에게 도발책임이 있다는 엄연한 사실을 부인하는 세력이 있다"고 밝혔다.

김 대표는 이날 페이스북을 통해 "73년 전 오늘 소련과 중국의 전폭적 지원 아래 북한 공산군이 우리 대
한민국을 기습 침략했던 새벽을 반추해 본다"며 이같이 말했다.

이어 "북한의 전쟁 도발을 사전예측해 대비하지 못한 탓으로 우리 국민들이 겪어야만 했던 그 혼란과 참
상은 두고두고 결코 잊어서는 안 될 아픈 교훈"이라며 "기밀 해제된 구(舊)소련의 문서들과 국내외 학자
들의 객관적 연구 결과, 그리고 전쟁을 몸소 겪으셨던 우리 선배세대들의 증언과 기록을 종합하면 북한
과 소련이 6·25 전쟁의 패륜적 도발자였던 사실은 너무나 명백하다"고 강조했다.

그는 "심지어 어떻게든 북한의 책임과 전쟁범죄를 한사코 감싸고 덮어주려는 친북적·종북적 사관(史觀)
을 주장하는 허무맹랑한 자들도 있다"며 "이들이 한 때 대한민국의 정권을 잡고 종속적이고 굴욕적인 대
북관계로 일관하며 '가짜 평화쇼'에 올인한 탓으로, 한반도의 항구적 평화가 위협 받기도 했다"고 지적
했다.

김 대표는 "그러나 이제 다시는 그런 가짜뉴스에 현혹됨이 없이, 한미동맹을 비롯한 자유진영 동맹국들
과의 연대를 통해 이 나라의 안전과 지속가능한 평화를 든든하게 지켜나가겠다"며 "저와 우리 국민의힘
은 자유와 민주를 지키기 위해 목숨까지 아끼지 않으신 호국용사들과 유엔군 용사들께 무한한 존경과 
감사의 마음을 바치며, 당당한 승리의 역사를 바탕으로 한반도의 자유와 평화, 민주를 더 확실하게 다지
겠다"고 부연했다.
