6·25 73주년 참전용사 희생 되새긴 尹… 강력한 힘이 평화 보장

한국전쟁(6·25) 73주년을 맞아 윤석열 대통령이 참전 용사들과 가족의 희생을 되새겼다. 자유를 지켜낸
영웅들의 희생을 기억해 자유 대한민국을 지켜야 한다는 것이다.
윤 대통령은 25일 페이스북을 통해 "73년 전 오늘, 트루먼 미국 대통령은 위기에 처한 대한민국의 자유
를 수호하기 위해 참전을 결정했다"면서 "미군 178만 명을 포함해 유엔군 195만 명이 우리의 자유를 지
키기 위해 한걸음에 달려왔다"고 말했다.
그러면서 "3년여간 이어진 전쟁에서 62만 명의 국군과 13만 명의 미군을 포함한 15만 명의 유엔군이 전
사, 실종, 부상 등의 피해를 입었다"고 했다.
윤 대통령은 "우리는 참전 용사들과 그 가족들이 흘린 피와 눈물을 결코 잊어서는 안 된다"면서 "자유
대한민국을 있게 한 영웅들의 피 묻은 군복의 의미를 기억해야 한다"고 강조했다.
이어 "강력한 힘만이 진정한 평화를 보장한다"면서 "공산 세력의 침략에 온몸으로 맞서 싸워 자유를 지
켜낸 영웅들의 희생이 헛되지 않도록 자유 대한민국을 더욱 굳건히 수호하고 세계시민의 자유와 번영
에 기여할 것"이라고 했다.
한편 이날 서울 중구 장충체육관에서 열린 '제73주년 6‧25 전쟁 기념식'에는 한덕수 국무총리가
참석했
다.
한 총리는 "정부는 북한의 거짓된 선의에 의존한느 가짜 평화가 아니라 강력한 자주국방으로 우리의 안
보를 지키겠다"고 했다.
