VOA(미국의 소리) 미국 국무부는 문재인 한국 대통령의 평양행에 주요 대기업 총수들이 동행하는 데 대해 대북 제재 이행 의무를 상기시켰습니다. 남북경협 가능성이 제기될 때마다 지적해온 '특정 분야별 제재'를 세 번째 언급 했습니다. 남북 정상회담과 관련해선 남북관계와 북한 비핵화가 별개로 진전될 수 없다는 원칙을 거듭 분명히 했습니다. 백성원 기자가 보도합니다. 국무부가 또다시 '특정 분야별 제재'를 거론하며 대북 제재 이행을 촉구했습니다. 이재용 삼성전자 부 회장과 최태원 SK그룹 회장, 구광모 LG 그룹 회장 등 한국의 주요 대기업 총수들이 18~20일 평양에서 열리는 남북정상회담에 문재인 특별 수행원 자격으로 동행하는 데 대한 반응입니다. 국무부 대변인실 관계자는 15일, 미국의 대북 압박 캠페인이 계속되는 중에 한국 재계 총수와 경영진 의 방북이 이뤄지는 데 대한 VOA의 논평 요청에, “모든 유엔 회원국들이 유엔 안보리 결의에 의해 금지 된 ‘특정 분야 제품(sectoral goods)’을 비롯해 유엔 제재를 완전히 이행하기를 기대한다”고 답했습니 다. [국무부 관계자] “We want denuclearization that is fully verified and, most importantly, final - the President wants to denuclearize North Korea once and for all and not have the nuclear issue resurface again.” 앞서 문 대통령은 지난 13일 남북 정상회담 원로자문단 오찬에서 “북한은 핵과 미사일을 더 고도화하 는 능력을 포기했다고 말할 수 있다”며 “북한이 미래 핵을 폐기하는 조치를 이미 취했다고 생각한다”고 밝혔습니다. 그러면서 “북한은 미국에 상응하는 조치를 요구하고 있다”며 북한의 입장을 자세히 소개 했습니다. 한편 국무부는 남북경협뿐 아니라 러시아 기업의 남-북-러 3각 에너지 사업 계획 역시 유엔의 대북 제재에 저촉될 수 있음을 시사했습니다. 대변인실 관계자는 15일, 러시아 국영가스회사 가즈프롬이 최 근 한국과 북한 경유 가스관 건설 사업 논의를 재개했다고 밝힌 것과 관련해, 해당 사업을 대북 제재 위 반으로 판단하느냐고 묻자 “모든 유엔 회원국들은 유엔 안보리 제재 결의들을 이행할 의무가 있고 미국 은 모든 나라들이 계속 그렇게 할 것으로 기대한다”고 답했습니다.
