美 국무부 北 어떤 위성 발사도 안보리 결의 위반

북한이 더 많은 위성을 쏘아 올릴 계획이라는 김인룡 유엔주재 북한대표부 차석대사의 발언과 관련, 미국
국무부가 어떤 위성 발사도 유엔 안보리 결의 위반이라고 지적했다.
18일 그레이스 최 국무부 동아시아태평양 담당 대변인은 미국의 소리(VOA) 방송에 “탄도미사일 기술을
활용하는 어떤 위성 발사도 유엔 안보리 결의에 명백히 위배된다”며 이같이 김인룡 차석대사의 발언을 일
축했다.
최 대변인은 “북한은 복수의 유엔 안보리 결의에 따라 모든 탄도미사일 관련 활동을 중지하고, 미사일 발
사 유예 조치를 복구하며, 탄도미사일 기술을 이용한 어떤 발사도 멈춰야 한다”고 말했다.
최 대변인은 또, “북한이 탄도미사일 프로그램을 완전하고 검증가능하며 되돌릴 수 없는 방식으로 폐기
해야 한다”고 강조했다.
앞서 김 차석대사는 17일 유엔 ‘우주공간의 평화적 사용에 관한 국제 협력’ 회의에서 “북한이 2016년부
터 2020년까지 추진할 국가우주개발 5개년 계획에는 경제 개발과 삶의 질을 개선시키는데 기여할 수 있
는 실용 위성 개발이 포함돼 있다”고 밝혔다.
특히, 그는 “북한의 우주 개발은 모든 측면의 법적 근거를 갖고 있다”며 “미국이 이를 불법화하기 위해
광분하고 있다”고 주장했다.(Konas)
