 틸러슨 美 국무 中 대북 영향력 행사해야

 렉스 틸러슨 미국 국무장관이 중국에 대북 압박을 거듭 촉구했다고 미국의 소리(VOA) 방송이 보도했다.

 틸러슨 장관은 6일 미국을 방문한 시진핑 중국 국가주석을 영접한 뒤 가진 기자회견에서 “두 나라와 역내 
이익에 모두 부합되는 외교 정책 부문에서 중국과 진전을 이루기 희망한다”면서 이 같은 입장을 밝혔다.

 틸러슨 장관은 “중국이 북한 핵무기와 미사일 기술 프로그램을 중단시키기 위한 영향력을 행사할 방법을 
찾기 바란다”고 말했다.

 이어 “중국이 유엔 안보리에서의 권위를 발휘하든, 혹은 새로운 힘의 지렛대를 활용하든 간에 북한의 무
모한 행동을 끝내고 동북아시아의 안전과 안정, 경제적 번영을 위한 새로운 전략의 일부가 될 수 있다”고 
강조했다.

 한편, 시진핑 주석은 도널드 트럼프 대통령과 플로리다의 팜비치에서 이틀간 정상회담을 갖는다.(Konas)
