 전여옥 “비뚤어진 좌파식 역사관 반드시 바로잡아야”

한나라당 전여옥 의원(사진)은 24일 동아일보와의 인터뷰에서 “불법 폭력을 휘두르며 국가의 근간을 부정했던 사람들이 민주화운동자로 둔갑하는 것은 지난 10년간 대한민국이 잘못된 길을 걸어왔다는 증거”라며 “지난 대선에서 530만 표 차로 이명박 대통령이 당선된 데는 ‘왜곡된 역사를 바로잡아 달라’는 다수 국민의 목소리도 분명히 담겨 있다”고 말했다.

전 의원은 “김대중 노무현 정부 10년 동안 대한민국의 자랑스러운 역사와 정체성을 뒤흔들었던 행위를 바로잡지 않는다면 정권 교체의 의미가 퇴색될 수밖에 없다”며 “국가 체제에 저항하는 사람을 무조건 영웅시해 온 비뚤어진 좌파식 역사관은 이제 반드시 바로잡아야 한다”고 강조했다.

그는 또 “잘못된 역사관이 뿌리내리면서 용산 참사와 같은 비극이 발생하는 토양이 만들어진 것”이라며 “이 땅에서 불법 폭력을 영원히 추방하기 위해서라도 동의대 사건의 재심은 반드시 추진돼야 한다”고 밝혔다.

전 의원은 이와 함께 “국가의 체제를 뒤흔들었던 자들이 민주화운동자로 인정받는다면 그동안 진짜 민주화운동에 헌신한 분들에게 욕이 된다”며 “민주화가 질적으로 완성되려면 재심을 통한 ‘역사 바로잡기’가 필요하다”고 말했다.
