 경찰 금품수수 의혹 홍문표 소환키로
 “측근에 로비자금 3~4천만원 흘러 들어가”

[뉴스파인더 박남오 기자] 경찰은 지난 2008년 한국농어촌공사 사장이던 홍문표(65) 새누리당 의원의 측근에게 종자 수입업자와 골재 채취업자의 로비 자금이 흘러들어간 사실을 확인하고 홍 의원을 소환하기로 방침을 세운 것으로 알려졌다. 

  
경찰청 관계자는 7일 “홍 의원의 측근에게 자금이 전달된 사실을 확인한 만큼 당사자에 대한 조사가 불가피하다”며 “주변인 등에 대한 보강 조사를 한 뒤 홍 의원에 대한 조사 시기 및 방법을 결정할 것”이라고 밝혔다. 

  
경찰은 대한하키협회장 신분으로 영국 런던에 체류 중인 홍 의원이 귀국하는 대로 소환 조사와 관련한 세부 일정을 조율할 방침이다. 

  
경찰은 종자수입업자와 골재채취업자들이 지난 2008년에 농림수산식품부, 농어촌공사 등을 상대로 로비를 하는 과정에서 한국영농신문 대표 민 모(55ㆍ구속)씨에게 로비 명목으로 건넨 8천여만원 중 3천만~4천만원이 홍 의원의 측근에게 전해진 것을 계좌추적을 통해 확인한 것으로 전해졌다. 

  
경찰은 이 자금이 로비 목적의 자금인지, 정치자금 성격이었는지 등을 놓고 적용 법조를 검토 중이다. 

  
이에 대해 홍 의원은 “나와는 전혀 관계없는 일”이라며 “구속된 민 씨가 나를 빙자해 업자로부터 돈을 받았다가 한달 반 만에 되돌려줬다고 하는데 그런 사실도 최근 언론보도를 보고 나서야 알게 됐다”며 자신을 둘러싼 의혹에 대해 전면 부인한 바 있다.
