♥제333신 오늘날 민주국가들은 예외없이 자본주의 - 시장경제를 채택합니다. '민주자본주의'라는 조어는 광범위하게 통용되지요. 그런데 자본주의는 근본적으로 탐욕적이며 부도덕적입니다. 2008년 미국 월가에서 시작된 '금융위기'는 유럽의 재정위기로 이어졌고 세계적인 불황이 5년째 휘몰아치고 있습니다.처음 위기가 확산되었을 때 강단의 교수들, 지식인들, 오피니언 리더들, 그리고 정치인들은 부자들(재벌들)과 고액 연봉의 경영인들의 탐욕이 경제를 망쳤다고 질타했습니다. 그런 요인이 분명 있었지요. 월가는 사깃꾼들과 다름없는 금융전략가들의 일터였으니까요. 대학과 미디어에서는 반기업정서가 넘쳐났습니다. 자유시장에 대한 비판은 당연시됐습니다. 영화에서도 드라마에서도 기업가는 악한으로 매도됐습니다. 자본주의의 최대수혜자들인 빌 게이츠와 워렌 버핏조차 자본주의는 불공정하여 수정되어야 한다고 외쳤습니다. 그러나 지금 기업에 대한 시각은 바뀌고 있습니다. 일자리를 만들어내는 곳은 기업이며 자본을 창출하는 곳도 기업입니다. 기업과 기업인을 공격하고 옥죄는 것은 결국 경제파탄으로 이어집니다. 이 간단한 이치를 경제강국들인 금융 - 재정위기의 당사자들이 먼저 깨닫고 있습니다. 기업보다 훨씬 더큰 지배력을 가진 각국의 정부가 위기를 부른 '진정한 주범'이라는 사실을 안 것입니다. 그래서 나는 박근혜 당선인이 '최고의 복지는 일자리'라고 말한 데 안도하는 것입니다.
