 어디서부터 잘못 됐는가
 

서울시장이 엉뚱한 사람이 되었습니다. 오세훈 시장이 지난번에 당선될 때에도 매우 힘에 겨운 당선이었지만 그렇게 힘들여 점령한 고지를 그렇게 쉽게 내놓게 된 것이 오 시장 자신의 고집 때문이라고들 하지만 나는 그렇게 생각하지 않습니다. 일단 그 책임은 한나라당에 있지만 궁극적 책임은 이명박 대통령에게 있습니다.

나경원 후보의 낙선이 ‘역부족’ 때문이라고들 하지만 사실은 17대 대통령의 정치력 부족이 최대의 원인이었다고 나는 믿고 있습니다. 정치력의 ‘부족’이었다기보다는 정치력의 ‘부재’가 최대의 원인이었다고 해도 지나친 말은 아닙니다. 오늘의 대한민국에는 정당정치가 없습니다. 서울시장 선거에 야당은 아예 후보를 내지도 않았고 거대여당은 ‘정체불명’의 사나이에게 서울시장이라는 요직 하나를 빼앗겼습니다.

20대 30대 40대가 여당에 대해 반기를 들었다고들 하지만 그들이 박원순이 누군지 알아서 찍었겠습니까. (나도 모르는데...) 다만 이명박에게 정이 뚝 떨어져, 꼴이 보기 싫어서 ‘엉뚱한 사람’ - 소속도 없는 사람 편에 섰던 것이지 그들이 대한민국을 반대하는 것은 아니지 않습니까.

얼마나 대통령이 정치할 줄 모르면 미국의회에서도 가까스로 통과된 FTA 협정이 미국에 다소 불리한 내용이 있을 텐데, 그 협정이 한국에게 ‘전적으로 불리’하지는 않을 텐데, 국회상정을 놓고 국민을 이토록 불안하게 만드는 겁니까. FTA 인준 때문에 대한민국 국회가 치고받고 차고 야단법석을 떨어도 꼴사납지만, 만일 인준이 안 되면 우리의 꼴은 대체 뭐가 됩니까. 대통령께서 좀 정치를 하셔야지, 넋 놓고 보고만 있으면 어쩔 겁니까.
