 북 ‘그거 말고 이거 보내’
 대북지원 놓고 남북 ‘신경전’

북한이 지난 4일 ‘수해지원’차원으로 ‘생필품과 의약품 대신 식량과 시멘트를 보내달라’고 우리 정부에 요구해 온 것으로 알려졌다. 

  
앞서, 정부는 천안함 폭침사태에도 불구하고 100억 원어치의 물자를 북한에 지원한바 있다. 

  
이번 지원과 관련, 통일부는 대한적십자사 총재 명의로 “북한 주민들을 돕기 위해 생필품과 의약품, 영양식과 라면을 비롯한 긴급 구호식품 등 50억 원 규모의 수해지원 물자를 전달하겠다”는 뜻을 북에 전달했다며, 전날인 4일 북한이 “‘수해 지원 품목으로 식량과 시멘트 등 물자와 장비를 제공해 달라’고 했다”고 5일 밝혔다. 

  
아울러, 대한적십자는 “수해를 입은 북한 주민들을 돕기 위해 긴급 구호 차원의 지원을 제의했으며, 지원 품목도 이런 기준에서 선정됐다”며 “담요·의류·일용품 등 긴급 생필품과 의약품 그리고 영양식·라면 등도 포함돼 있다”고 밝혔다.

  
한편, 정부 관계자는 “긴급구호라는 성격에 맞게 취약계층에게 필요한 품목과 수량을 어느 정도 계획해둔 상태”라면서 “이에 대해 북측과 의견 조율이 있을 수 있지만 쌀·밀가루·시멘트 등의 지원은 생각하지 않고 있다”고 선을 그었다.
