 자유통일 英雄과 그를 알아줄 작은 英雄들
 성실한 자만이 성실을 볼 수 있는 것이다.

 김정일 정권을 교체해 북한의 동포를 해방할 자유통일의 지도자는 새로운 시대의 英雄(영웅)이다. 
 
 영국 빅토리아 시대 걸출한 지성인 토마스 칼라일(Thomas Carlyle, 1795～1881)은 名著 ‘영웅숭배론’에서 영웅의 조건을 “진실함”으로 정의한다. “그 눈빛이 사물의 假象(가상)을 꿰뚫고 사물 자체를 꿰뚫는 성실함”에서 “통찰”과 “직관”이 나온다는 것이다. 
 
 자유통일의 英雄은 그러나 “그를 알아주는 작은 英雄들”을 필요로 한다. “우리 모두 진실한 작은 英雄이 될 때 위대한 지도자를 선택할 수 있다”는 것이 칼라일의 충고이다. 그래서 칼라일은 “영성을 결여한 미개한 야만민족이나 위인을 믿지 않는 소인배가 아니라 진정한 영웅숭배자들”이 되라고 말한다. 
 
 “英雄정신”과 “英雄정치”를 강조한 칼라일은 히틀러 시대와 맞물려 오해의 소지도 있지만 “英雄 중 가장 위대한 英雄”을 예수그리스도로 꼽았듯, 그의 영웅론은 가장 숭고하고 신령스런 정신에 대한 찬사였다. 
 
 무엇보다 超人(초인)과 凡人(범인)을 ‘의지’와 ‘無의지’의 상반된 존재로 본 니체(Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche)와 달리 칼라일은 ‘성실한 英雄’과 영웅을 알아보는 ‘성실한 작은 英雄들’을 본질적으로 같은 존재로 본다. 
 
 자유통일의 英雄이 나오기 전 각성된 작은 英雄들을 키우고 가르칠 이유가 여기 있다. 성실한 자만이 성실을 볼 수 있는 것이다.
