 美 국무부 “평창서 북한 관리 안 만나”…고위급 와도 마찬가지
 

캐티나 애덤스 東亞太 대변인 "현재 북한은 신뢰할 만한 대화에 관심이 없고 성실히 협상에 임하겠다는

미국 국무부가 평창 동계올림픽에서 미-북 관리들간 접촉이 이뤄질 가능성을 거듭 일축했습니다. 최룡
해 등 고위 북한 당국자가 파견돼도 마찬가지라고 밝혔습니다. 백성원 기자가 보도합니다.
  
  평창 동계올림픽을 계기로 미-북 대화가 재개될 가능성이 계속 제기되고 있습니다. 특히 최룡해 노동
당 부위원장이 북한 고위급 대표로 참석할 수도 있다는 보도가 나오면서 마이크 펜스 부통령과의 회동
을 점치는 목소리가 한국에서 나오고 있습니다. 그러나 국무부는 이런 관측을 거듭 일축했습니다.

  캐티나 애덤스 국무부 동아시아태평양 담당 대변인은 29일 최룡해 부위원장이 평창올림픽에 참가할 
경우 펜스 부통령과 회동이 이뤄질 수 있느냐는 ‘VOA’의 질문에, 올림픽 경기 전후로 북한 관리들과 만
날 계획이 없다는 기존 입장을 재확인했습니다.
  
  이어 북한의 대화 의지를 나타낼 진정한 신호는 도발적인 행동을 비롯해 핵실험과 미사일 발사, 그리
고 다른 무기 실험을 즉각 중단하는 것이라고 밝혔습니다.

  애덤스 대변인은 미국은 2005년 6자회담 9·19 공동성명을 이행하고 북한이 관련 유엔 안보리 결의를 
모두 이행하도록 만들기 위해 진지하고 신뢰할 만한 협상에 열려있지만,
  현재 북한은 신뢰할 만한 대화에 관심이 없고 성실히 협상에 임하겠다는 의사도 보이지 않고 있다고 
지적했습니다. 
  
  앞서 애덤스 대변인은 지난 18일에도 ‘VOA’에 북한에 일치된 대응을 하는 데 대해 한국과 긴밀히 접
촉하고 있다며, 올림픽을 계기로 미-북 간 접촉 계획이 없음을 분명히 한 바 있습니다.
  
  한편 애덤스 대변인은 한국이 남북 스키 공동훈련을 위해 북한으로 전세기를 띄울 경우 미국의 독자적 
대북 제재와 상충될 우려가 없는지 묻는 질문에, 북한의 올림픽 출전은 새로운 게 아니라며 즉답을 피했
