 국본 한국의 PSI 전면 참여 방침을 적극 환영한다
 

청와대는 14일 정부가 조만간 PSI(대량살상무기 확산방지구상) 전면 참여 방침을 공식화할 것이라고 밝혔다. 국민행동본부는 정부의 PSI 전면 참여를 적극 환영한다. 

PSI 전면 참여는 북한의 미사일 및 핵물질의 수출입을 차단하고 국가의 안전을 확보하기 위한 최소한의 안전조치이자, 국제사회의 테러 문제와 대량살상무기 차단에 공조하기 위한 초보적 조치이다. 

소위 「북한을 자극(刺戟)할 것이므로 참가해서는 안 된다」는 논리는 한국이 북한의 군사적 위협에 무방비(無防備) 상태로 벌거벗어야 한다는 주장이다. 친북좌파의 전형적인 적반하장(賊反荷杖)이다. 긴장을 조성한 원인이 북한인데, 이를 한국에 돌리고 있는 것이다. 

실제 북한은 핵무기·화학무기·생물무기·탄도탄 등 WMD(대량살상무기)를 완비한 무소불위(無所不爲)의 군사강국(세계 5위)이 되었다. 2008년부터 「잿더미」란 표현으로 우리에게 핵무기 사용까지 위협하고 있다. 

미사일 역시 마찬가지이다. 우리 미사일의 300km 사거리는 북한의 대포동 2호(6000km), 노동(1300km) 미사일은 물론, 스커드(300~500km) 미사일의 사거리에도 못 미친다. 세계 6위의 미사일 강국인 북한에 대응해야 하는 우리로서는 그야말로 역부족이다. 

PSI 참가는 군사적 긴장을 높일지 모른다. 그러나 이것은 북한정권이 대한민국의 생존과 안전을 위협하기 때문에 빚어진 위험이다. 

정부는 PSI 참가와 아울러 북한정권의 미사일 발사까지 옹호하고 있는 친북좌파를 위축시키기 위한 보다 적극적 대책을 마련해가야 할 것이다.
