 法 이석기 내란음모 인정…징역 12년·자격정지 10년
 

재판부 “혁명조직 ‘RO’가 맞다”

내란음모 혐의로 기소된 통진당 이석기 의원이 재판부로부터 유죄판결을 받았다. 


수원지법 형사12부(부장 김정운)는 17일 오후 4시경 피고자에게 내란음모 등의 혐의를 인정하고 징역 12년에 자격정지 10년을 선고했다. 아울러 함께 기소된 조양원 김홍렬 씨에게도 징역 7년 등을 선고했다. 


판결에 앞서 재판부는 “혁명조직 ‘RO’가 맞다”면서 “이 의원은 RO 조직의 총책에 해당하는 상당한 지위에 있었다”고 판결했다. 


아울러 재판부는 “RO 모임에서의 발언은 북한의 대남혁명전략에 부합한다”면서 “김근래 피고인을 지휘원으로 지칭하는 등의 정황으로 미뤄 ‘지휘체계를 갖춘 조직’으로 인정된다”고 했다. 


이와관련, 새누리당은 같은날 현안브리핑에서 “재판부의 판결을 존중한다”면서 “이번 재판부의 결정이 우리 사회의 갈등과 반목을 털고, 대한민국의 성숙한 법치주의를 확인시켜주는 이정표로 남기를 바란다”고 밝혔다. 


또한 민주당은 국회 브리핑을 통해 “국민상식에 반하고 시대 흐름과 동떨어진 행위에 대한 사법부의 판단이 있었다”며 유감을 표했다.


한편, 이석기 의원 등 피의자들은 지난 해 5월 비밀회합에서 지하혁명조직 RO 조직원들과 국가기간시설 타격을 모의하는 등 내란을 모의한 혐의로 구속기소돼 검찰로부터 징역 20년에 자격정지 10년을 구형받은바 있다.
