남경필 국회 외통위원장직 사임 선진 국회 꿈 미완

남경필 국회 외교통상통일위원장이 24일 한미 자유무역협정(FTA) 비준안 처리와 관련, 위원장직 사임 의사를 밝혔다.
(뉴스파인더)남 위원장은 이날 국회에서 열린 한나라당 최고위원회의에서 “최고위원과 외통위원장을 이례적으로 겸직했지만 오늘 외통위원장 자리를 사임하겠다”며 “FTA 처리가 끝난 만큼 이제는 최고위원으로 할 일이 많이 있다고 생각한다”고 말했다.
그는 대화와 타협이 가능한 선진 국회를 마련하겠다는 한바탕 꿈을 꿨지만 그 꿈이 미완으로 남게 됐다”며 “외통위원장으로 노력했지만 부족한 부분이 많았다”고 그동안의 소회를 전했다.
이어 남 위원장은 이제 집권여당이 반대하는 분들의 마음도 녹여내는 노력이 필요하다”며 “이미 당과 야당이 합의했던 농축수산 분야와 중소상공인 피해 최소화를 위한 법적예산의 뒷받침을 충실히 해야 한다”고 강조했다.
국민께 했던 약속을 충실히 이행할 수 있도록 투자자국가소송제도(ISD)의 재협상을 위해 노력하겠다”고 약속했다.
