 이 대통령 퇴임후 논현동 자택 가기로
 홍준표 “내곡동 사저 부지는 국가에 귀속시킬 것”


홍준표 한나라당 대표는 17일 내곡동 대통령 사저 논란과 관련해 “이 대통령이 당의 요청을 전격 수용하고 내곡동 사저에 대해 전면 백지화 하기로 했다”고 밝혔다.

 
홍준표 대표는 이날 오후 국회 대표실에서 기자간담회를 갖고 “이 대통령은 내곡동 대신 기존의 논현동 자택으로 돌아가겠다고 밝혔다”며 이같이 말했다.

 
홍 대표는 이 자리에서 내곡동 사저 논란의 책임을 물어 김인종 청와대 경호처장의 경질을 청와대에 요청했다고 밝혔다.

 
이어 내곡동 사저 부지 처리에 대해서는 “부지는 국가에 귀속시킬 것”이라며 “후속 절차에 대해서는 청와대와 다시 논의하기로 결정했다”고 설명했다.

 
또한 내곡동 부지 매입 과정에 이 대통령이 개입한 적이 없느냐는 질문에 “대통령과는 관계가 없다”고 일축했다.

 
홍 대표는 내곡동 사저 부지 선정을 철회한 과정에 대해 “처음 경호실에서 70억 예산을 요청할 때 과하다고 생각했고, 이후 40억으로 축소됐지만 그 걸 다 쓰는 것도 부적절하다고 판단했다”며 “대통령 사저에 관한 문제라 말을 하기가 부적절했지만 여러 문제점을 살펴보니 내곡동으로 이전하는 것 자체가 국민정서에 반하고 부적절하다고 생각해 토요일 충주유세를 갈 때 청와대 참모에게 전면 재검토를 요구했다”고 밝혔다.

 
아울러 기자들의 거듭된 질문에 “당의 요청을 전격 수용한 것”이라고 재차 말하면서 “내곡동 사저 문제로 더 이상 국민에게 심려를 끼치지 않도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
