 동정 자총 美·加 해외지부 결성

박창달 한국자유총연맹 회장, "해외 동포들의 국내 발언권 강화에 한국자유총연맹이 앞장서 나가겠다"

 박창달 한국자유총연맹 회장은 11일, 12박 14일의 일정으로 미국 동부지역 5개 지부(시카고·뉴욕·워싱턴D.C.·애틀랜타·댈러스)와 캐나다(토론토)지부 발대식을 위해 출국했다.

 박창달 회장은 “해외 동포들이 국위 선양과 선진 일류 국가건설에 보여준 노력이 정당하게 평가될 수 있도록, 해외 동포들의 국내 발언권 강화에 한국자유총연맹이 앞장서 나가겠다”고 이번 방문의 목적을 강조했으며, 미국·캐나다 동부지역 발대식에 모두 참석해 활발한 해외지부 활동을 독려할 예정이다.   

 앞서 자유총연맹은, 지난 4월 미국 서부지역에 로스앤젤레스·샌프란시스코·시애틀·샌디에이고·오렌지카운티·리노·하와이지부와 밴쿠버지부를 결성한 바 있다. 이번 발대식으로 미국에 12개 지부와 캐나다에 2개 지부 결성이 완료된다. 

 한편, 한국자유총연맹은 지난  2010년에는 아프리카 알제리와 아랍에미리트 연합국과 러시아 연해주 지부를 결성하였고, 2009년 8월 아시아·독립국가연합과 태국·라오스·캄보디아·베트남·방글라데시·인도·인도네시아·몽골·필리핀·말레이시아에 해외지부를 결성한 바 있으며, 올해 안으로 전 세계 55개 해외지부의 결성을 완료할 예정이다.(konas)
