논평연기금 주주권 확대는 ‘연금사회주의’다

대통령 직속 미래기획위원회 곽승준 위원장의 ‘연기금 주주권 적극 행사’ 발언에 대해 자유기업원(원장 김정호)은 심각한 우려를 표한다.
곽 위원장의 발언은 정권의 입맛대로 기업을 좌지우지 하겠다는 의도로 밖에 보이지 않는다. 이는 분명 ‘관치경제’며 시장경제원칙을 심각히 훼손하는 것으로 현 정부의 대기업 길들이기에 불과하다.
국민연금은 일종의 강제저축으로 국민의 재산이다. 정부는 어떠한 권리로 국민연금을 임의로 사용해 경제를 장악하려 드는지 이해할 수 없다. 국민연금을 이용해 기업을 통제하도록 국민은 위임한 적도 합의한 적도 없다.
국민연금은 여러 핵심 기업의 최대주주 또는 2대, 3대 주주다. 이런 상황에서 국민연금이 주주권 행사를 확대하면 기업 경영의 자율성이 심각하게 침해 당할 것은 자명하다. 이는 대부분의 기업을 공기업으로 만들겠다는 발상으로 ‘연금사회주의’다.
정부는 국민연금 운용을 민간에 맡겨 독립성을 보장할 것을 촉구한다.
