오바마 한미 FTA 추가협상 타결 환영

김종훈 통상교섭본부장과 론 커크 미국 무역대표부(USTR) 대표가 지난 11월8일 한미 통상장관 회의를 열고 한미 자유무역협정(FTA) 쟁점 현안 해결을 위한 최종 담판을 벌이고 있다고 미국 소리 방송이 보도 했다.
미국과 한국이 자유무역협정의 추가협상을 타결했다.
미국의 바락 오바마 대통령은 지난 4일 백악관에서 이번 합의는 몇 가지 중요한 진전을 포함하고 있다며 미국과 한국 모두에게 이득이 되는 것이라고 밝혔다.
또, 미국의 자동차업계는 한국 시장에 대해 훨씬 확대된 시장접근 기회를 얻게 됐다고 오바마 대통령은 말했다.
앞서 오바마 대통령은 이번 미-한 자유무역협정을 계기로 미국의 수출이 연간 1백 10억 달러 늘어나고, 7만 개의 일자리가 창출될 것이라고 말했다.
한편, 한국 청와대는 미국 의회가 다음 달 중 자유무역협정을 비준할 것으로 예상된다며, 한국 국회도 빠른 시일 내에 협정을 비준하길 바란다고 밝혔다.
