 김관진 재공격시 다신 도발못하게 응징할것

국회청문회 모두발언.."6.25 이래 가장 심각한 위기상황 직면"

  김관진 국방장관 내정자는 3일 북한의 연평도 무력도발에 따른 대응태세와 관련, "적이 또다시 우리의 영토와 국민을 공격할 경우에는 다시는 도발하지 못하도록 응징할 것"이라고 말했다.

김 내정자는 이날 국회 국방위 인사청문회에 출석, 모두발언을 통해 "지금 우리나라의 안보는 6.25 전쟁 이래 가장 심각한 위기상황에 처해 있다"며 이같이 밝혔다.

그는 천안함 및 연평도 사태를 거론하면서 "군은 국민의 생명과 재산을 보호해야 한다는 기본 책무를 다하지 못했다"며 "적은 또다시 우리 군의 허점을 파고들며 또 다른 양상의 도발을 획책할 것인 만큼 다시는 감히 도발할 엄두를 내지 못하도록 탄탄한 국방태세를 갖춰나가겠다"고 말했다.

그는 또 "눈앞에 있는 적의 불법적인 도발을 철저히 응징하지도 못한 채 먼 미래의 위협에 대비한 군사력 건설에만 치중하는 것은 사상누각에 불과하다"며 "작전 현장지휘관이 '선조치 후보고'의 개념하에 작전을 과감하고 소신있게 지휘할 수 있도록 여건을 보장해 줄 것"이라고 밝혔다.(konas)
