 백악관 미한 정상회담서 6자회담 미래 논의

오는 11일 서울에서 열리는 미-한 정상회담에서 북한과의 대화와 6자회담의 미래 문제가 논의될 것이라고 제프리 베이더 백악관 국가안보회의 아시아 담당 선임 보좌관이 밝혔다고 10일 밝혔다.

 
베이더 보좌관은 오바마 대통령의 이번 아시아 순방 기간 중 6자회담과 관련한 새로운 움직임이나 성과를 기대하느냐는 질문에는, 현재 새롭거나 발표할 내용은 없다고 말했다.

 
오바마 대통령은 이명박 대통령 외에 중국과 일본, 러시아 정상들과도 각각 만날 예정이어서, 북 핵 문제 진전을 위한 돌파구가 마련될지 주목된다.

 
한편 필립 크롤리 국무부 공보 담당 차관보는 8일 정례브리핑에서, 미국은 6자회담을 재개할 준비가 돼 있다는 것이 변함없는 입장이라고 밝혔다.

 
6자회담을 여는 것이 건설적이라고 판단될 때, 회담을 재개하고 미국은 이와 관련해 북한이 진지한 비핵화 의지를 행동으로 먼저 보여줄 것을 요구하고 있다.
